Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

We are glad to write this letter to you so that we all can prepare for our 27th Vietnamese Baptist Fellowship Conference,  Friday night, July 01 to Monday noon, July 04, 2011 in Southern California.

As you may have noticed, the 27th Conference is a very special conference for many reasons. First of all, it happens at a special time, the year 2011, which marks 100 years since Tin Lanh came to Vietnam. Many Vietnamese Evangelical denominations have agreed to set apart July 02, 2011, for a very special Tin Lanh Centennial Celebration. This event will happen at Crystal Cathedral, Garden Grove, CA. This is a once-in-a-lifetime event for us to look back on the first 100 years, to count the blessings and to learn the lessons, to look at present challenges, and to look forward to our future in serving God's Kingdom. This opportunity will not happen again in our life-time. We would like our children and grandchildren to attend in order to learn more about our fathers' spiritual heritage and to take part in developing that spiritual heritage.

Secondly, the 27th Conference has a special theme: "Behold, I Am Doing a New Thing." The theme verse for our Conference is in Isaiah 43:19a, which is God's statement that He is doing a new thing in a new era. We are living in that new era; we need a new vision and a new strategy to win the younger generations and to cooperate with our fellow denominations in building the Kingdom of God.  Let's come to the 27th Conference with our hearts seeking God, asking Him about the powerful new thing that He wants to do among us.

Thirdly, the 27th Conference is held in a special location. “Little Sai Gon” is the largest overseas Vietnamese Community in the world, with a wide range of activities and developments. Beside visiting relatives and friends, you can visit famous churches in the area: Saddleback Church, Sa-Rang Church (the largest Korean church in the US), New Song Church (an Asian multi-cultural Church), Rock Harbor Church (a church for students)... Furthermore, you can also visit family vacation places like Disneyland, Knott’s Berry Farm, Sea World, San Diego Zoo…

Therefore, we would like to invite you all to join hands with us in:

(1) earnestly praying for the 27th Conference
(2) actively promoting the 27th Conference
(3) preparing to register for the 27th Conference

We will try regularly to inform you about the process of preparation for the 27th Conference.  May God's new thing be established among us.

May God bless you with a peaceful and fruitful New Year.  We wish to see you all at the 27th Conference.

On Behalf of the Organizational Committee
